Ladies are you ready to Leap?

Ladies get your proposals ready it's nearly time for a Leap year. Ancient folk law acknowledges that for 1 day every 4 years the roles are reversed and women can get down on one knee and pop the question.

The Leap year Cocktail

In need of dutch courage?

The Leap Year cocktail was invented at The Savoy Hotel, London on February 29th 1928 and legend suggests it has spurred on many marriage proposals. Okay, so we realise that times have changed and traditional gender roles really have become a thing of the past. Although, we do think the upcoming Leap Year can be used as a great excuse for having cocktails at the Savoy.

Harry Craddock's Leap Year Cocktail recipe for The Savoy hotel, London.

2 ounces gin

1/2 ounce Grand Marnier

1/2 ounce sweet vermouth

1/4 ounce fresh lemon juice

Stir and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Serve with a twist of lemon.

Find this fantastic recipe and more in 'The Savoy Cocktail Book'.

Get ‘The Artist’ Look

Get 'The Artist' Look

This Valentine's Day we have been inspired by the release of The Artist. After being nominated for 12 BAFTA awards and winning 3 Golden Globe awards it is no surprise that The Artist described as "a love letter to cinema" is the film everyone is talking about. Made in black and white, this modern-day silent film has a vintage appeal that evokes the magic of 1930's cinema. We adore it! The romance, the drama, the style, the glamour…and of course, the jewellery! It's safe to say that "Peppy Miller" is our new style queen.

This Valentine's Day give your own salute to the silver screen starlets, here's how…

Get the "Peppy Miller" look with the fabulous art deco inspired "dreams cuff". Re-create her fabulous 1930's style by wearing over a pair of stunning silk gloves.
